Besides representing Canada at three world exhibitions (Taejon 1993, Vancouver 1986, Montréal 1967), the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal often toured our country, the United States and Europe. They have also visited South America and Korea. During their last tour, in the Maritimes,
they had a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of their founder, Father Léandre Brault.
The annual tour is crucial to the musical and cultural development of the choir-school. It allows our young Montrealer boys to mix with other world-class choirs, and exposes them to the historical, cultural and artistic richness of the regions they visit. It also gives them the
opportunity to communicate their own cultural heritage abroad. Furthermore, for our young graduates of elementary and of high school, the tour represents the crowning achievement of years of effort, perseverance and commitment.
Throughout the tour, foreign choirs welcome the Petits Chanteurs. Their stay in local families gives them a great opportunity of exchanging. They are already aware of the value of such exchanges because every year, they, in turn, are host to foreign choirs.
As representatives of Canada and of Quebec abroad, the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal will willingly associate themselves with organizations dedicated to peace or poverty alleviation. They offer benefit concerts to raise money for local causes.
By fostering a spirit of openness and solidarity, the annual concert tour complements perfectly the education received at school.
